The Upgrade Audit™ — On-Site Diagnostic

I Come to You. We Find OutExactlyWhat's Getting in the Way.

Most business owners have a rough idea that something isn’t working. But they can’t quite put their finger on what — or where to start. The Upgrade Audit is a bespoke, on-site diagnostic where I spend time with you and your team, get under the bonnet of your business, and come back with a clear picture of what’s holding you back and exactly what to do about it.

Why it's done in person

You Can't See What's Really Going On From the Outside

A lot of business coaching happens on Zoom. And for ongoing work, that’s fine. But when you want to really understand what’s going on inside a business — you have to be there.

I come to your site. I spend time with your team. I watch how things actually work — not just how you think they work or how you describe them on a call. That’s where the real problems show up

A team member who says the right things in a meeting but undermines decisions when the owner’s not around. A process that looks fine on paper but creates chaos in practice. A leadership gap nobody wants to admit is there.

You can’t spot those things from a Zoom call. That’s why I show up in person.

What this looks like in practice

Bespoke

Tailored to Your Business

No two businesses are the same. The length of the audit, what we look at, and how we work is built around you — not a fixed template.

On-Site

I Come to You

I travel to your business and spend physical time with you and your team. That’s what makes the difference between a surface-level review and a proper diagnosis.

Bespoke

You Leave Knowing Exactly What to Do

No vague recommendations. You get a specific action plan — prioritised and practical — so you know what to do first and why.

What we look at

Every Business Has Bottlenecks in Four Areasv

During the audit, I look at all four — because the problems in one area are almost always connected to problems in another. You need the full picture to fix anything properly.

Your Time

  • Where are you spending it and where shouldn’t you be?
  • Where are you spending it and where shouldn’t you be?
  • Where are you spending it and where shouldn’t you be?

Your Team

  • Do people know exactly what they’re responsible for?
  • Where are the gaps in your leadership structure?
  • Is anyone stepping up — or is everyone waiting to be told?

Your Systems

  • Does the business run on your knowledge or on proper processes?
  • What breaks down when you’re not there?
  • Where does operational chaos come from?

Your Money

  • Do you have clear visibility of your margins and cashflow?
  • Are pricing decisions based on data or gut feeling?
  • Where is money leaking without you realising?

How It Works

What Actually Happens During an Audit

Every audit is different because every business is different. But here’s the shape of how it typically works.

We Have a Conversation First

Before anything is agreed, we have a proper chat about your business — what’s going on, what you’ve already tried, and whether an audit is the right starting point. No obligation, no pressure.

I Come to Your Business

We agree the dates and I travel to you. The length depends on your business — smaller operations might need a day or two, larger or more complex businesses may need more time. We work that out together.

Time With You and Your Team

I don’t just talk to you. I spend time with your people — watching how things work, having honest conversations, and getting a real picture of what’s going on day to day. Your team often know exactly what the problems are. Nobody’s asked them properly.

You Get a Clear Action Plan

At the end of the audit, I give you a specific, prioritised action plan — the key bottlenecks I’ve found and exactly what to do about them. Not a long report full of management speak. Something you can actually use.

What You Walk Away With

Clarity. And a Plan to Actually Do Something About It.

The key bottlenecks — named and explained

Exactly what’s slowing the business down, where it’s coming from, and why it’s happening.

Prioritised next steps

What to tackle first, what to do next, and what can wait — so you’re not trying to fix everything at once.

Practical recommendations you can implement

No jargon, no theory. Actions that make sense for your business, your team, and where you are right now.

A Prioritised Action Plan Built Around Your Business

Not a generic report. Not a list of recommendations that could apply to any business. A specific, practical plan built around what I’ve found in yours — with clear priorities so you know where to start.

Most business owners who go through the audit say the biggest thing they get isn’t just the plan — it’s finally being able to see the business clearly. When you’re in it every day, it’s almost impossible to see what’s really going on.

This is a stand-alone service — but it doesn't have to end here.

Some clients do the audit, take the action plan, and run with it themselves. That works well for people who have a strong team around them and just needed clarity on where to focus.

Others find that having spent time working together, they want ongoing support to implement what we’ve found. In that case, the audit naturally leads into the Upgrade Advisory — private fortnightly coaching where we work through the action plan together.

Either way is fine. There’s no pressure to continue. But if it makes sense, the option is there.

Is this right for you?

The Audit Is Built For Businesses That Are Already Running

This works best for established, owner-led businesses that have grown to a point where things are getting harder to manage — not businesses that are just starting out.

You run an established business with a team behind you

Things are busy but not running as smoothly as they should

You know something's not right but you can't quite put your finger on what

You want an outsider's honest view — not someone who'll just tell you what you want to hear

You're in trades, construction, services, engineering, manufacturing or professional services

You're ready to actually do something about what you find — not just have a conversation about it

This isn’t for businesses under £300k or owners looking for a quick motivational boost. The audit is a serious piece of work and it’s designed for businesses serious about changing how they operate.

Don't just take my word for it

What Clients Say.

After the Audit

Where Does This Lead?

The audit is a complete piece of work on its own. But here’s how clients tend to move forward.

Take the Plan and Run

You've got a clear action plan. You've got a strong team. You take it and implement it yourself. Job done.

Move Into 1:1 Coaching

You want to keep the momentum going and have support as you work through the plan. The audit leads naturally into the Upgrade Advisory.

Join the Group Programme

You want structure, accountability and to work through the changes alongside other business owners. The Upgrade Advantage is the next step.

Let's Have a Chat About Whether the Audit Is Right for Your Business

Every audit is different, so the first step is always a conversation. Tell me a bit about your business and where things are at — and we’ll work out whether this is the right fit and what it would look like for you.

No hard sell. No fixed packages. Just an honest conversation about your business.
